About Research Teaching

About

PhD student in the Biology department, Marine Section.

My research focuses on the interations between plastics and microorganisms in marine systems, and how those dynamics impact plastic fate in the environment.

My PhD is part of MAPLE- Marine Plastic Pollution: Environmental Impact and Life Cycle Scenarios, from NTNU's Interdisciplinary Sustainability projects.

Competencies

  • Microbiology
  • Molecular Biology

Research

My research project is divided in two part:

  • The first one aims to study the seasonal and temporal dynamics of marine microbial biofilms on plastic debris
  • The second aims to assess and potentially identify marin plastic degraders in the Trondheimsfjord
