About

I am a trained dermatologist, vocational educator, and school counselor, holding a Master's degree in Counseling Science from the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning (IPL) at NTNU, as well as a PhD in Teacher Professionalism and School Research from the Department of Teacher Education (ILU) at NTNU. Currently, I serve as an Associate Professor in Vocational Didactics and Vocational Pedagogy within the Section for Vocational Studies, School Development, and Educational Leadership (FYSU) at ILU, NTNU. In my previous roles, I have worked as a vocational teacher, dissemination coordinator, and as an educational, vocational, and social pedagogical advisor for vocational students in upper secondary education.

My research primarily focuses on young people in vocational training, as well as adults in professional education, including master's programs and continuing and further education (EVU). I am particularly interested in health-promoting learning environments, stress management, life skills, motivation, engagement, and the desire to learn among pupils and students. A key aspect of my research is the transfer of knowledge across disciplines, courses, and learning environments—both in educational settings and in the workplace—aimed at fostering understanding, resilience, and meaningful experiences in learning situations. Theoretically, I often draw upon various practice-oriented theories of learning and coping in relation to positive psychology, including the work of Antonovsky, Dweck, and Deci & Ryan. My research employs qualitative methods and Q-methodology.

Research
