About

I am a PhD candidate in engineering with a research focus on sustainable local energy systems, district heating networks, positive energy districts, and the digitalisation of thermal energy infrastructure. My work investigates how existing district heating systems can be redesigned and operated more flexibly through energy system modelling, thermal energy storage, utilisation of local heat sources, advanced control strategies, and data-driven analysis.

A central part of my research is connected to the local district heating system at Gløshaugen campus, where I study the interaction between buildings, heat demand, distribution infrastructure, storage solutions, and operational strategies. My research combines district-scale building modelling, district heating network simulation, operational data, and digital twin concepts to support better monitoring, analysis, and control of future district heating systems.

I am particularly interested in how digital tools, system modelling, and operational data can help accelerate the transition towards more robust, flexible, and sustainable energy systems.
