About

Haroon is currently employed as a PhD candidate at the Department of Chemical Engineering at NTNU. His work is primarily focused on synthesizing, functionalizing and characterizing magnetic nanoparticles for biomedical applications. The PhD project is carried out under the supervision of Sulalit Bandyopadhyay and Magnar Bjørås.

Haroon pursued his MSc in Biotechnology from NTNU. During his master’s thesis he worked to improve the saturation magnetization of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles which were later functionalized for the extraction of mRNA from biological samples.

Education:

2023 – Present: PhD in Chemical Engineering, NTNU, Norway

2020 – 2022: M.Sc. Biotechnology, NTNU, Norway

2015 – 2019: B.Sc. Biotechnology, UVAS, Pakistan
