Thesis: Numerical simulation of fluid-structure interaction using a Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM): application to fast transient dynamics leading to structural failure
Research
Current research is focused on simulating Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) using a partitioned Lattice-Boltzmann Method (LBM) / Finite Element Method (FEM) coupling approach. This method is applied to challenging fast transient dynamics involving non-linear phenomena in both the fluid and the structure, such as explosions or blast impacts on civil and industrial infrastructure.
