CV

Hizbullah Malik is a doctoral candidate at IKP, working with Dr. Sulalit Bandyopadhyay and Dr. Erik Prasetyo. Hizbullah began his academic journey with a bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology, Peshawar, Pakistan. Then he did his master's in Chemical Engineering from National University of Science and Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan. During his master's he got the opportunity to be a part of the prestigious "Erasmus Mundus Global Mobility" through which he continued his master's thesis at NTNU. During his thesis, he focused on the Synthesis and Development of Differently Shaped Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles incorporated in Hydrogel for Wound Dressing Application.
After receiving his master's degree he joined the Particle Engineering Center (PEC) as a Research Assistant on an industrial project from Equinor "Oil water Separation using magnetic nanoparticles" and was also hired as a core faculty engineer at PEC.

Hizbullah will be working on the project "REVITALISE" funded by the European Commission aiming to investigate the precipitation mechanism to recover lithium, nickel, manganese, cobalt, Iron and phosphate from spent battery during his PhD.

Fabrication and characterization of functionalized nano-silica based transparent superhydrophobic surface

Super-hydrophobic transparent thin-film coating was developed using silica nanoparticles (Si-NPs) synthesized by the Stober process and then were functionalized to create a super-hydrophobic coating material.

Wood as a green and sustainable alternative for environmentally friendly & flexible electronic devices

There is a high demand for electronics made from renewable and biodegradable materials with less harmful components. Wood Based Flexible Electronics is the solution.
