My dissertation investigates mental health in Norwegian upper secondary schools using a mixed-methods approach, comprising four papers, two quantitative and two qualitative. The dissertation explores how various aspects of the school environment, social support, emotional problems, school-related stress and coping strategies influence students’ mental health. Additionally, the dissertation seeks to provide insights into how upper secondary schools can promote well-being.
