About
My tasks at the University Library:
I'm a subject specialist for medicine and provide teaching, councelling and research support for staff and students at The Faculty of Medicine and Health Science. My main tasks are:
Subject specialist in medicine.
Research and publishing support.
User support for EndNote, reference managing and good citation practice.
Courses, teaching, counselling.
Teaching in the obligatory PhD-course SMED8007 at The Faculty of Medicine and Health Science.
Purchasing books and tending the book colllection at the Medicine and Health Library.
Research and academic interest:
I'm interested in Scorpions and did my master thesis on scorpion behavior. I'm also interested in tropical insects and arachnids that may cause health problems in humans. I'm the editor of The Scorpion Files and The Scorpion Files News Blog that provide academic information about scorpion research.
I have my own scorpion species that is named after me: Microtityus reini from The Dominican Republic. I have discovered and described a new scorpion species from Afghanistan, Hottentotta flavidulus Teruel & Rein, 2010.
