CV

Reignard Tan graduated with MSc in applied mechanics and mathematics with specialization in solid mechanics at the mathematical institute at the University of Oslo in 2013. He has since been working in the department for structural analysis in Multiconsult in Oslo. He obtained a PhD from the department of structural engineering from NTNU in 2019 on the topic of crack width calculation methods for large reinforced concrete shell structures financed by the Ferry Free E39 research project. He was appointed as adjunct associate professor in 2020 at the department of structural engineering at NTNU as part of the concrete group. He is an active member of the task group fib T2.1 and the RILEM committee TC 287-CCS, and has also contributed to the CEN WG1 on developing the revision of Eurocode 2.

He has vast experience in analysis and design of both onshore and offshore reinforced concrete structures. He has recent years had a special focus on developing methods for design of water retaining concrete structures, seismic analysis and design reinforced concrete shell structures and structural and service life assessments of deteriorated concrete structures subjected to corrosion and Alkali Silica Reactions.

 

Research

Reignard's research interests include: structural analysis, finite element modelling, concrete structures, deterioration of existing concrete stuctures, corrosion, alkali silika reaction, amongst others.
