About

I am a biologist with keen interest in understanding how ecosystems function and respond to various stressors at high altitude and latitude ecosystems, and how climate change affect these responses. More specifically, how changes in climate and biotic stresses affect plant chemistry and functional traits, and what implications these changes might have on ecosystem functioning.

For the past several years, I hav been working with the emissions of biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) from high-latitude ecosytems.

I obtained my PhD at the University of Copenhagen. I investigated the effects of insect herbivory and changing climate on BVOC emissions in the Arctic. I have also worked with ecosystem-atmosphere exchange of BVOCs.

Currently I am investigating sources of within-species variation determining BVOC emissions from mountain birch forests. I will be linking BVOC emissions, genetics, insect herbivory stress, and dendroecology.
