Kim-Andre Myhre Arntsen
About
I am employed as a doctoral fellow at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture (KULT), NTNU. I am part of the Center for Technology and Society (STS), NTNU Energy, and Team Society. My project will look at how different ownership models of renewable energy facilitate representation, engagement, and justice in the Norwegian energy Transtion. It is claimed in the academic literature that decentralization of renewable energy production in the form of small-scale renewable energy technology leads to greater energy security, more democratic engagement, greater local development, and just transition. Ownership of the technology that will produce renewable energy in the future also plays an important role in the energy transition. Some forms of ownership are seen as more democratic, more just, and that they lead to greater acceptance of the technologies. However, how will this look in a Norwegian context?
Spring 2023
For spring 2023, I teach the subject KULT2209 - STS: Energy, environment and society 1
I am also working on data collection for my project where I am mapping the ownership of renewable energy in Norway via a survey and interviews, as well as looking at +CityxChange (Brattøra, Trondheim) and Byneset (farms with microgrids, wind power, solarpanels, and hydrogen batteries) as cases.
