About

I am a PhD candidate within the research field of aquaculture at the Department of Biological Sciences at NTNU in Ålesund. I am holding a master’s degree in marine environmental sciences. I am also PhD coordinator at the Department of Ocean Operations and Civil Engineering.

In my current research I am taking a closer look at the effects of intensive aquaculture on numerous organisms and sea life living on and above the bottom near the sea cages in Norwegian fjords. Furthermore, I am interested in the fatty acid composition of various macroinvertebrates (e.g edible crab), which are influenced by fish farming sites.

Main supervisor: Associate Prof. Snorre Bakke

Supervision

Co-supervision M.Sc. student Erle Smedbold (July 2023 - Spring 2024), "Nephrops norvegicus as an indicator species of aquaculture impact in a deep-water fjord on the west coast of Norway (Romsdalsfjorden)".

Outreach

På labben: Fiskeoppdrett og livet i havet med Lara Bromann fra NTNU

Aquaculture is a fast growing food production sectors, with Norway as the world's largest producer and exporter of Atlantic salmon. In my research I am taking a closer look at the effects of aquaculture on various organisms living on and above the bottom.
