About

I am a PhD candidate at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where my research focuses on mitigating the environmental impacts of flexible hydropower operation. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Water Resource Management from the University of Applied Forest Sciences in Rottenburg am Neckar, Germany. During my undergraduate studies, I completed both a research internship and my bachelor’s thesis at NTNU, which strengthened my interest in hydropower-related environmental processes.

I subsequently pursued a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Alongside my master’s thesis, I gained two years of professional experience as a hydraulic and dam engineering consultant at Sweco, where I worked on projects related to hydraulic modelling, dam safety, and water infrastructure.

RenewHydro aims to develop knowledge and solutions that enable flexible hydropower to support the realization of energy transition and achieve national energy, climate, and environmental goals.

Publications

Mitigation of environmental effects of frequent flow ramping scenarios in a regulated river

The study proposes ramping and operation regimes to reduce hydropeaking impacts, allowing hydropower flexibility while protecting downstream river ecosystems from rapid flow changes and frequent turbine cycles.
