Bakgrunn og aktiviteter
Martin Ludvigsen is Professor and manager of the Applied Underwater Laboratory (AUR-Lab) at the Department of Marine Technology NTNU where he teaches the course TMR4120 Underwater engineering. Trondheim, Norway. Central research interests includes control, design and operation of underwater vehicles and instrumentation. He has been involved in a variety of research projects both on deep sea research in the upper water column and in the arctic deploying robotic underwater vehicles.
The AUR-Lab is running a common pool of advanced underwater equipment and maintaining the interdisciplinary approach, the research group has provided robotic platforms and instruments for both engineers and scientists. Today, the AUR-Lab is considered an essential asset for multidisciplinary marine research at NTNU, facilitating a large body of research.
Since 2015 has held an Adjunct . Professorship in Marine Technology at the Svalbard University Centre (UNIS) in Longyearbyen where he teaches the course AT334/834 Arctic marine measurements techniques, operations and transport. He is currently affiliated scientist of the Centre for Autonomous Marine Operations and Systems (NTNU AMOS).
