Research Topic:
Microalagal and light Arctic using optical methodes and autonomous underwater vehicles.

Primary production in the Arctic is the basis of life are the primary food source for many ice-related organisms. I am working on how we can use different optical methods to get study algae. The aim is to extract health information that can be related to remote sensing. For this, I am looking at absorbance, reflectance as well as measuring photosynthesis. These measurments can then be related to hyperspectral studies both underwater (UHI) and from drones and satelites thus contributing to the observation pyramid.

My current research builds on my PhD work where I used underwater hyperspectral imaging to study both macroalgae (kelp forest) and microalgae (under sea ice algae) in the Arctic.
