About

I am a human geographer with a focus on sustainability and the socio-ecological transformation of our economy and society. I am especially interested in Degrowth/ Post-Growth approaches, alternative economies, and alternatives to development, with a focus on exploring how a just sustainable transformation could look like. I am also interested in tourism and urban studies as well as in social media geographies.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Geography from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Germany) and a Master's degree in Human Geography from the University of Trier (Germany) and the Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina). After completing my studies, I worked as a Research Associate at the Department of Human Geography and Transformation Studies at the University of Augsburg (Germany). Additionally, I served as Managing Director of the research group 'Alternative Economies – Beyond the Growth Paradigm' at the Academy of Territorial Development in the Leibniz Association, where I was involved in research projects on alternative economies.

Landscape constructions on Instagram. A postmodern reinvention of romanticism

This study explores the Instagrammability of landscapes and tourist destinations. It examines how Instagrammers create idealized, romantic images that reflect societal and ecological narratives, often contrasting with current ecological crises.
