About

About

I am a PhD candidate in political science, and I am a part of the LEGACIES project led by Professor Charles Butcher. My project explores the connection between the legacies of historical states and the likelihood and variation in experience with contemporary secessionist movements. In addition to examining whether the presence of historical states can explain the likelihood of experiencing contemporary secessionism, I am also interested in exploring which mechanisms can explain this link between past and present, as well as which conditions/traits of historical statehood can contribute to our understanding of narratives and mobilization for these kinds of political goals.

I am also part of the research group Violence, Institutions and Peace (VIP) at ISS
