About

With a background in construction and geotechnics, I am working on soil restoration and relocation projects with NIBIO, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Skanska, and Pro Invenia. I have gained experience through field investigations, monitoring, and the development of strategies for sustainable soil management. Currently, I am working as a doctoral researcher at NTNU, focusing on soil conservation and the relocation and reconstruction of arable soils affected by infrastructure projects. My research aims to develop engineering methods and planning tools that safeguard agricultural productivity while enabling construction.

Research

I am conducting doctoral research on soil conservation, focusing on the relocation and reconstruction of arable soils affected by infrastructure development. My work aims to develop engineering methods and planning tools for soil transport and reconstruction that safeguard agricultural productivity while enabling civil construction projects.

I am working with NIBIO on the evaluation and monitoring of soil restoration on approximately 300 hectares of farmland affected by the Rv3/25 road project in Løten Municipality for Skanska. I have also worked on soil relocation and restoration projects connected to Rv4 Roa grense (with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration), Flakk–Brøset, and an experimental field in Melhus in collaboration with Pro Invenia. These projects involved fieldwork with soil sampling and characterization of compaction, drainage, texture, water saturation, hydraulic conductivity, and other soil properties. I collaborated closely with contractors and infrastructure owners to deliver data-driven results for scientific reports, landowner agreements, and the development of strategies for compensation and future soil restoration practices.

My core competencies include soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering, project planning, data collection and analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration. I have contributed to publications and presentations in my field and continue to develop guidelines for soil relocation in construction projects through my doctoral research.

Teaching

Assisting Lab Classes for the course BYGT2204 during Autumn 2023 and Spring 2024:

In my role, I assist undergraduate and master's students in conducting flakiness index (Flisighet) tests on aggregates and penetration (Penetasjon) tests on bitumen, ensuring proper equipment use and data collection.
