Research Interests: Fracture and Failure models, Fracture propagation in porous (disordered) media, Statistical modelling and data analysis, Percolation in disordered system, SOC models,  Monte-Carlo simulations, Experiment and analysis of Acoustic Emissions during material/rock fracturing, Micro-CT image analysis (using Avizo), Creep and Fatigue Modelling/Analysis of materials and rocks (Shale). 

Master degree (1997-98) in Physics from University of Calcutta, West Bengal, India. 

PhD (1999-2004) from SINP, Kolkata, India on "Critical behavior in the dynamics of failure in disordered systems". The PhD degree was awarded by Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India.
