About

I am a PhD candidate at the Centre for Care Research East, Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Gjøvik. I am a health economist by training, with a special interest in economic evaluation and efficiency analysis of public health interventions and healthcare technologies. With a background in public health, I am also interested in effectiveness evaluation, particularly causal analysis, of public health interventions in low—and middle-income settings.

The research project I am involved in is “Variations in trajectories, utilisation and costs in Norwegian municipal in-patient acute care units” funded by the Research Council of Norway.  I am interested in the efficiency and cost-effectiveness analysis of MIPACs in Norway. The three different research papers planned for my PhD are:

1.      A realist review of inpatient admission avoidance intermediate care services: Evidence from Norwegian MIPACs

2.      Cost and efficiency analysis of Norwegian MIPACs

3.      Cost-effectiveness analysis of MIPACs compared to hospitals from a healthcare perspective.

Research interests:

Economic evaluation of health policies, public health interventions and healthcare technologies

Efficiency analysis of healthcare systems

Effectiveness evaluation in healthcare/public health

Survival analysis

Research

  • Centre for Care Research East

Variations in patient trajectories and experiences, utilisation and costs in municipal in-patient acute care services (MIPAC)

The overall objective of the proposed project is to address this gap and to contribute with new and updated knowledge on the role of AAIC schemes in general, and MIPAC in particular, in ensuring sustainable health care services in Norway.
