About

Background

I hold a Master in Civil engineering and urban planning with a focus on infrastructure (2019) from INSA Lyon in France. I then completed my PhD in cotutelle between NTNU and INSA Lyon in 2023 in urban hydrology and modelling of performance of green infrastructure under changing climate.

After my PhD, I worked as a postdoctoral fellow working with NTNU on the implementation of the revised European wastewater directives, as well as pursuing my work on climate change adaptation with LTU in Sweden.

I started late 2025 as a senior researcher between the Road, Rail and Transport (vjt) group at ibm, and the Water and Wastewater (va) group, with a main focus on data management and climate change adaptation for infrastructure.

Klima 2050

The main goal of SFI Klima 2050 (2015 -2022) was to reduce the societal risks associated with climate changes and enhanced precipitation and flood water exposure within the built environment.

StopUP

StopUP (2022 - 2025) addresses the objectives of the revised Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (UWWTD), by moving toward the development of new treatment technologies and integrated urban wastewater management plans.

Publications

Embracing epistemic uncertainty: a risk evaluation method for pollutants in stormwater

Epistemic uncertainties are concerning when it comes to pollutants of emerging concerns for which we have by nature limited knowledge and data. We suggest a method to account for it explicitly in modelling.

Practice makes the model: A critical review of stormwater green infrastructure modelling practice

Modelling practices for green infrastructure as reported in scientific papers lack transparency and accounting of uncertainties which hinders the modelling efforts in the field.

Flooded with potential: urban drainage science as seen by early-career researchers

This opinion paper reflects the position Early-career researchers regarding the systemic academic barriers hindering progresses in the field of Urban Drainage.

TVM4174 - Hydroinformatics and Big data

In my course TVM4174 - Hydroinformatics and Big data I aim at providing the water engineers with a modern toolbox for addressing water engineering tasks. This course focuses on the pipeline from data to information. In that regard, we first dive into the concept of data management, giving the students basic knowledge and experience with real world data usage. We touch upon data quality, time-series analysis, outlier detection, data modelling, FAIR principles, data sharing and cybersecurity.

In the second part of the course, we focus on data science methodologies for data analysis as well as modelling. The goal is to provide the students with a basic and general sense of data science methods including ML and AI, their pros and cons so that they are able to investigate which tool is best suited for their problems, rather than chosing the wrong tool for the wrong reason.

 

TVM4130 - Urban Water systems: Grey, blue and green

In TVM4130 - Urban Water systems: Grey, blue and green I teach about stormwater management from the green infrastructure scale to the city scale and consideration of urban streams. We aim at making the future water engineers aware of the challenges with stormwater management, as well as the current trends and solutions. We discuss the specificities of Nature-based solution, of the Norwegian Three-Step Strategy to Stormwater management, of stormwater quality under the topic of the revised European urban wastewater directives
