About

Ph.D. candidate in the department of marine technology at NTNU.

I am happy and proud to be a team member of SFI Smart Maritime, a Norwegian research center that is dedicated to carry out innovative research activities targeting at various approaches to lower the emission level and improve energy efficiency on ships.

My topic is to model and simulate ship exhaust gas cleaning systems, also conventionally referred to as marine scrubber. Marine scrubber can help reduce Nitrogen Oxides(NOx), Sulphur Oxides(SOx) and Particulate Matter(PM) from the ship exhaust gas, and now they are ready to be upgraded with higher efficiency and new abilities to reduce Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emission!

The ship exhaust gas cleaning system is a complex one, which consists of subsystems that remove NOx, SOx and PM separately, as well as various types of sensors and control systems. To properly model an automotive whole system, each subsystem needs to be described mathematically and then connected together. Moreover, the resulting automotive system, which is expected to predict the system behavior under various operating conditions, must operate efficiently and react fact. All these are challenges for this topic.
