Research activities and field of interests

Dr. Yu works primarily on structural strength analysis and design of marine structures including possible fluid structure interaction effects. He is interested in both fundamental theories of structural mechanics, hydrodynamics and continuum solid mechanics and their practical applications on different marine structures from traditional ships to next generation marine structures e.g., offshore wind turbines, floating bridges and aquaculture structures. The research topics include but are not limited to

Dr. Yu works primarily on structural strength analysis and design of marine structures including possible fluid structure interaction effects.
