Hearing study
NB! The hearing study has been completed.
Join our hearing study
We're looking for participants (aged 18-40 years) for a research project on hearing science.
Did you know that your ears make sounds? We invite you to take part in a research project that investigates which sound properties can have transient effects on the active mechanics of the inner ear. Sounds from your own ears will be recorded for this purpose. We are looking for people without hearing problems. You will be compensated for the time you spend (see below).
About the research study
Our motivation is the problematic of noise exposure and pollution and their effects on humans. It is not uncommon to be exposed to high sound levels during leisure activities and from environmental noise pollution. Here we will study the detailed sound properties that can affect mechanisms of the active inner ear, using sound recordings from your ears.
What does participation involve?
The project involves in-ear measurements with a dedicated microphone. You do not need to do anything. But it will help us if you try to be quiet, as these are sensitive measurements. The sound levels used can be considered low risk and are well within the legal limits that apply to working environments in Norway.
As compensation for your participation, you will receive a gift-card of 200 NOK.
