Keynote Speaker: Dr. Richard McKenna

Dr. Richard McKennaDr. Richard McKenna holds a PhD in Civil Engineering and has over 30 years’ experience in research and consulting on ice engineering issues for the offshore oil and gas industry. His expertise includes sea ice and iceberg environments, ice loads, ice impacts on offshore operations and arctic standards.

Richard serves on the Canadian Advisory Committees on ISO TC67/SC7 for offshore structures and ISO TC67/SC8 for arctic operations. He is co-convenor of ISO TC67/SC7/WG8 for arctic structures, as well as participating on ISO technical panels and working groups dealing with arctic data, ice actions, floating structures, and ice management. He is presently technical editor for the revision to the ISO 19906 arctic structures standard and for the initial version to the ISO 35106 arctic data requirements standard.
