About the course

Course content

The course will a preamble to the master thesis and the students should select a topic and specify the subject of the thesis in the the start of the semester. There will be three days of seminars on theory and reesearch methods. The students shall make a report consisting of the first four chapter of the thesis; background, research questions, theory and methods. The course is held together with FP4300.

Learning outcome

The student shall know: - theories and methods to investigate topics relevant to the studies - qualitative and quantative methods. The student shall have skills regarding: - how to formulate researvh questions. - to see the connection between research questions, theory and methods. The student shall have a general competetence to: - structure and program the work on the master thesis.

Learning methods and activities

The course is organised as individual project work. Seminars about research method, report-writing and relevant themes in the project work will be arranged. Written assignment to be delivered.

Required previous knowledge

Passed first year of master program in Real Estate Development and Facilities Managament and master program in Physical Planning
