About the course

Course content

The content of the course is the nature of architectural theory. This is discussed through concrete examples from the world of architecture and art and relevant theories from the discipline of architecture as well as other forms of theoretcal - foremost scientific - and practical knowledge

Learning outcome

Knowledge: Basic knowledge about architectural theories. This comprises knowledge about the characteristics of architectural theory, the different kinds of theory, especially aesthetic theory, and the relation between theory and practice in the discipline of architecture. Skills: To reflect critically on the theory of architecture and express this in written text. General theoretical competence in architecture.

Lectures, seminars and written exercises

This course is offered to incoming exchange students and will be taught in English if necessary.

Further on evaluation

The assessment in the course is based 100% on the submitted essay written during the course. The essay should be a maximum of 4000 words."

The postponed exam will be scheduled for the next regular exam period for those who failed or have documented valid absence.
