About the course
Course content
The course will give the students an overview of the geographical, social and economic conditions in Africa South of the Sahara. Emphasis will be on acquirement of broad and principal knowledge about the African continent. A chosen number of current issues will be shed light upon through a focus on specific countries or areas.
Learning outcome
Learning objectives: Students should during the course acquire broad, basic knowledge about the African continent. In addition, they should acquire knowledge on selected current issues relating to individual countries and/or sub-regions. Through the written assignment, students will collect relevant information and account for a further specified topic / question.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures/seminars including written exercises (up to 24 hours of teaching).
4-hour written exam.
