About the course
Course content
The students will write an essay where they make use of knowledge and competence acquired throughout the bachelor study. The essay shall document maturity, knowledge of and insight into central themes. The essay deals with a theme which is announced early in the semester. Counselling and guidance to the writing process is available in plenary seminars.
Learning outcome
To develop independent skills in in-depth understanding, discussion and written exposition of selected themes which deal with African social life.In addition to learning writing skills and analytic reasoning, the essay can also serve as a pre-study for those students who plan to enroll in the master program.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures and seminars. Evaluation: Bacheloressay (15 pages, approx. 6000 words). Submission deadline 15th May.
