Course content
In the Sustainable Investment Products & Stewardship module, you will learn how to apply sustainable investing in practice. You’ll begin with a clear overview of current market trends and the rapid growth of sustainable investments worldwide and in Norway. The module introduces various financial products—such as sustainability-linked bonds and loans, where financial terms depend on reaching specific sustainability goals; green and social bonds, which fund projects with positive environmental or social impacts; and Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) funds, which use ethical screening to choose investments. You’ll also examine green funds, offering exposure to companies dedicated to sustainability.
A central part of the module is learning how to evaluate these products, assessing both their potential for financial returns and their real-world impact. You’ll gain practical skills in due diligence and understand how to ensure these investments align with client goals and regulatory requirements.
The module then moves on to stewardship and active ownership, teaching you how to leverage your influence to promote positive corporate change. You’ll learn about the importance of shareholder rights, fiduciary duty, and ESG factors, and explore practical strategies for engaging with companies through dialogue, voting, and collaboration. You’ll also discover how to set clear engagement goals, establish milestones, and transparently report on outcomes to clients. By the end of this module, you’ll be well-prepared to identify, evaluate, and recommend sustainable investment options that align with client values, while understanding how to use active ownership to drive meaningful progress in corporate sustainability.
