Course content
ESG Portfolio Strategies serve as the concluding module of the course, building on your foundational knowledge of ESG regulations, reporting, and sustainable investment products. This module equips you to bring everything together by integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into portfolio analysis and client recommendations. You will explore key ESG integration approaches—such as exclusion, inclusion, and thematic screening—and learn how to set clear ESG objectives for client portfolios.
The module guides you through sourcing and evaluating ESG data, demonstrating how to combine ESG metrics with traditional financial analysis to enhance portfolio construction. You will also examine leading ESG-focused strategies, including the best-in-class approach and ESG momentum strategies. Risk management is specifically addressed for ESG portfolios, covering the identification and measurement of ESG risk factors, as well as how to balance them with conventional risks.
Finally, you will learn to use ESG factor models to analyze how ESG factors contribute to portfolio returns. As the final module, ESG Portfolio Strategies enables you to synthesize what you have learned across the course—ESG compliance, reporting, product selection, and stewardship—into practical, client-focused portfolio solutions. By the end, you will be able to understand ESG-integrated portfolios that align with client goals and deliver sustainable value, ensuring you are well-prepared to meet the evolving needs of banking clients in the field of sustainable investments.
