About the course

Course content

The subject’s goal is to provide an overview of and insight into the importance technology for the field of business administration. Through an introduction to theory of technology understanding, students will learn to identify and discuss issues related to the development, procurement and implementation of technology. Students will learn sufficiently about digital technologies to understand a certain scope of application areas and what happens when processes are digitized.

  • has knowledge of the relationships between trends in technology development and the impact on the field of business administration
  • has knowledge of ethical dilemmas related to digitization and technology use
  • can update their knowledge of the main types of digital technology for organizations

  • can apply knowledge of technology- and organizational understanding to practical issues related to the procurement and use of technology
  • can reflect on the meanings of technology for organizations
  • can explain how digital technologies arrive at given solutions and results

Lectures, case discussions, student presentations

Further on evaluation

The course is evaluated through a project assignment in groups of 3-5 students which counts for 60% of the grade and an individual written exam which counts for 40% of the grade. More information about the assignment will be available at the start of the semester.

It is possible to improve or re-sit part-assessment in this course.
