About the course

Course content

Theory and Practice with focus on contextualisation and positioning the artistic work. Thesis development

Learning outcome

The objective is to focus and develop (within the time period of max. two years of study) the project / work to be presented and defended in the final MFA exhibition / exam.

Learning methods and activities

a) MFA course – theory and practice / mandatory
In this term the student will start with formulating an abstract of thesis development. The thesis development is advised by several teachers, for example Prof. from MFA course, Art & Common Space Professors and the Contact teachers.
At the end of the term the students participate in the Spring exhibition and present their project / work to the professors of KiT and external / internal (cross disciplinary) reviewers.
b) Tutorials offered by all Professors and guest tutors, minimum 2 tutorials with main tutor term.

Compulsory assignments

  • A theory segment
  • Participation in the semester show with a plenum discussion

Required previous knowledge

Bachelor of Fine Art or equivalent.
