About the course

Course content

The placement is an independent work carried out at an artistic institution, enterprise, or research project. The purpose of the placement is to challenge the student to utilize the knowledge and skills achieved in the study programme and for the student to hone creative and professional skills and gain insight and experience relevant to the study and future work life. The course consists of placement and a written report.

Students are generally expected to secure their own placement or practical training and submit it for approval by the academy. Approval will be granted provided that the proposed activities do not conflict with the learning requirements of the master’s programme. For students enrolled in the Artistic Entrepreneurship track, where placement is a mandatory component, the academy may arrange a placement in cases where the student is unable to obtain one independently.

The enterprise must provide a contact person and the academy must provide a supervisor for the placement student. The placement is formally approved by signing an agreement between the enterprise or research project, the student, and the academy. The academy will provide a placement guide for the students and enterprise or research project.

The placement must be between 50 and 75 working hours in at least three working weeks.
