Course content
You will gain insight into overall sustainability reporting frameworks and EU taxonomy and an understanding of how technology, disease control and new solutions can help secure the industry's reputation, and ensure profitable and sustainable growth opportunities.
In the module, we go through topics such as reputational risk, financial consequences of political uncertainty and the effect of changes in framework conditions. We also review expectations for sustainability reporting, and best practices for documentation. Furthermore, we look at how the interaction between new technology and process monitoring tools can be included in comprehensive reporting in the area of sustainability, and at reducing financial risk, nature risk and restructuring risk.
Target group: Middle managers and managers in the aquaculture industry who need insight into framework conditions for the industry in light of new rules and regulations for sustainability. It is also relevant for employees of companies that make investments in, or finance the aquaculture industry.
It is a prerequisite that the participants have practical experience from the industry, knowledge of financing the aquaculture sector or education at bachelor's level in chemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology or economics.
Learning outcome
- Understand principles for value chain analysis and circular economy in the aquaculture industry
- Insight into reporting requirements, political risk and consumer expectations that may affect sustainability requirements going forward
- Understand the importance of reporting on sustainability, and the use of credible reporting as a competitive advantage
- Describe sustainability aspects of the aquaculture industry, and how technology and measurement systems provide opportunities to document increased sustainability

Approved compulsory activity gives access to a digital home exam.
All aids are allowed.
In case of failure or valid absence, a new exam can be taken the next semester.
