Course content
- Hydrodynamics
- Water supply: Drinking water sources, distribution systems
- Waste water: Different types of waste water, sources, collection systems, resipients
- Stormy water
Learning outcome
After completing the course, you will be able to prepare a pre-project for a comprehensive water supply system for a smaller urban settlement. In this, the most emphasis shall be placed on the transport system for supply water and wastewater, as well as challenges related to stormwater.
This means that you must have
- Basic knowledge of water sources, treatment methods for supply water and wastewater as well as treatment of sludge.
- Deeper knowledge of hydraulics and water transportsystems, as well as stormwater management
Furthermore, you must be able to
- explain the societal importance of safe drinking water
- find and evaluate up-to-date knowledge of topics within the subject
- apply digital tools for simulation of different scenarios when preparatory project development
- communicate results to peers
Learning methods and activities
- Project-oriented learning with pre-recorded resource lectures
- 3 - 6 mandatory work requirements
Facilitation for remote students:
Pre-recorded video lectures available on the learning platform. Guidance is performed both synchronously and asynchronously using forum. There must be a plan for this on the learning platform.
Scheduled time consumption:
Project work: 60 hours Lectures: 10 hours Organized guidance: 10 hours Work on mandatory assignments: 60 hours Own contribution: 40 hours SUM 180 hours
