About
About the course
Course content
The course is held every second year, next time autumn 2011, if enough students show up. The course deals with methods og techniques to try out and validate system development technologies. Actual methods are experiments, adaptions of such, case studies, action research, surveys and systematic literary reviews. Organization of studies and methods for data collection and analysis are key topics. Examples are taken from evaluation of industrial methods and the literature in system development. It is demanded that each course participant carry through or discuss an empirical study, with a corresponding project report that counts 50% in the final mark.
Learning outcome
To learn how to carry out own empirical studies, and learn how to understand and use results from studies made by others.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, discussions and self studies, as colloquia. Compulsory activities via exercises: to carry out an self-defined empirical study, resulting in a project report that counts 50% of the final mark of the course.
