Course content

Main concepts from school and society. Different subject traditions’ attitudes to concepts, categories, models and theories. History and historical authenticity of concepts. Key concepts from the subject of history and philosophy. Work on adapted communication/teaching of concepts.

Learning outcome

The student
- can explain the development of fundamental key concepts for the critical understanding of society.
- can identify and distinguish between normative and descriptive concepts/ideas and give an account of key concepts that are controversial.
- can explain/define and apply such key concepts in his/her own reasoning
- can discuss the teaching of concepts and evaluate simplifications as part of the work of organised communication/teaching
