Course content

This course allows students to specialize in an area of Anglophone literature. A more detailed description of the academic content will be made available in the reading list at the beginning of the semester.

Learning outcome

Candidates who have passed this course
- have knowledge of a specialized selection of Anglophone literature;
- are able to demonstrate discipline-specific and critical understanding of a specialized topic within Anglophone literature;
- are able to write independent and critical literary analysis in academic English utilizing relevant theory and secondary literary sources.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures/seminars, discussions, supervision. Students are required to use the digital course learning platform regularly and to make an active contribution in class.

Approved obligatory assignment is valid for 2 semesters (the semester in which the approval is given, plus the following semester).

Compulsory assignments

  • Written work(s) (approx. 3,000 words). May include an oral element.

Further on evaluation

The course is assessed by a written home examination (approx. 4000 words/8-10 pages, 7 days).
