About the course

Course content

Methodology for design of digital systems, with emphasis on integrated circuits and systems. Design methodology for system-on-chip, high level and logic level synthesis, verification methodology, included property checking.

Learning outcome

A. Knowledge:
1) Understand the principles behind modern methodology, design flow and tools for design and verification of large digital systems.

B. Skills:
1) Exploit modern methods and tools for design and verification of large digital systems, given functional and non-functional specification.
2) Perform modelling and synthesis of digital modules and systems.
3) Verify designs by simulation and formal verification.

Lectures, colloquiums, study of research papers, essay writing, one large project assignment

Required previous knowledge

Experience with use of VHDL, basic digital design methodology.
