About

About the course

Course content

The topic of the thesis should be within one of the three disciplines of the subject. Alternatively, students may choose an interdisciplinary topic. The Bachelor's thesis must be written in French. The students should further develop their proficiency in French as well as their understanding of texts and academic writing. They should practice information processing, collection of empirical data and evaluation of research and methods within a relevant subject. The thesis may be written in cooperation with an external business or organisation.

Learning outcome

The bachelor's thesis should give the students the possibility to do an in-depth study of an academic subject. The focus should be on understanding texts and writing, especially academic writing. Through working with the bachelor's thesis, the students should gain practical training in written French and in planning and completing independent academic work of their own choice. The students should demonstrate their ability to analyse and explain a topical subject, applying relevant theories and methods. The bachelor's thesis offers the students practical training in collecting, organising and synthesising information and be able to communicate their knowledge, all of which will be relevant to their professional lives. The bachelor's thesis ends the bachelor's degree and at the same time prepares the students for further studies at master's level.

Learning methods and activities

Lectures, group sessions and individual supervision. In group sessions and under academic supervision the students will select a reading list and write a project outline.
