About

About the course

Course content

The course is given every other year; next time will be the spring of 2012. The course aims at strengthening the candidate's knowledge of the field of processing solid raw materials. This field is quite wide so some subjects of special interest to the topic of the students study have to be chosen. Chosen areas may be: comminution, classification, mineral separation, flotation theory, environmental subjects and recycling of raw materials.
The course will mainly be given as laboratory exercises so the student can be able to work independently in the laboratory and be able to choose the right equipment for the right job.
The corresponding theory will be subject of self study.

Learning outcome

The student will have a good knowledge of some of the more common mineral separation methods and practical experience in evaluating them by laboratory tests.

Learning methods and activities

Mandatory laboratory exersises and reporting and analysis of the results.

Required previous knowledge

Introductory course in Mineral Dressing/Minerals Engineering
