Learning outcome
Knowledge:
- know best practice and proven methodologies of systems administration
- have knowledge of the responsibilities of the system administrator and her team
- know the basic prinsiples of management of knowledge workers
Skills:
- perform common system administrator tasks in a limited environment (lab)
- make plans for a smaller organization (case)
- evaluate and choose the right model for operation in relation to organization needs, economic limitations and the team's skills
- communicate orally and in writing in both Norwegian and English with peers within the area
Competence:
- understand information systems' strategic importance for business
- can communicate with the strategic management in an organization
Learning methods and activities
Teaching methods:
Lectures, casestudies and assignments
Mandatory work requirements:
All mandatory casestudies/assignments and the termpaper are to be delivered in time to get an assessment.
Mandatory activities:
3-5 mandatory assignments. All the mandatory assignments have to be approved in order to get access to the exam.

Portfolio assessment. The portfolio consist of a predefined number of case studies/assignments and a term paper/project. The assessment is an overall evaluation of the portfolio.
Specific conditions
Exam registration requires that class registration is approved in the same semester. Compulsory activities from previous semester may be approved by the department.
