About the course
Course content
Students must independently plan and carry out an in-depth project, preferably with an external client. The scope of the project is 200 hours per group member.
For some, this project will serve as a preliminary project for the bachelor thesis. Students will implement a smaller system and will be trained in system and project documentation.

The candidate can:
- defend and justify choice of method and technology for a given project.
Skills
The candidate can:
- carry out an independent project where in many cases there will be an external client.
- independently carry out the necessary process, as well as producing necessary program code and documentation according to the project description and chosen method.
General competence
The candidate:
- can convey subject matter in writing and orally
- can integrate previously acquired knowledge and be able to acquire new knowledge in solving a problem
- can independently initiate and carry out smaller projects and justify choices made during the project
Learning methods and activities
The assignment is carried out as an independent project work with supervision meetings.
It is the students' responsibility to request guidance meetings.
The project is normally carried out in groups of 2-3 people.
In special cases, a dispensation from the rule on group work can be granted, so that a person can carry out the project alone.
Further on evaluation
Documentation according to method and end product (usually executable program and source code) must be submitted. Program code must be in English.
The students must initiate project meetings (including a start-up meeting) with the subject teacher. Presentation related to the project is mandatory and all project members must participate.
Process, reports, end product and presentation count. Each part must be passed.
All students in the group normally receive the same grade based on the group assignment. In special cases where a student has not contributed sufficiently, the student may be given an individual grade based on documented lack of effort and/or workload.
The right of appeal applies to the project as a whole.
New / postponed assessment: Next time the course is run.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Computer Science - Engineering (BIDATA)
Recommended previous knowledge
Knowledge in programming and system development that corresponds to courses within these subject areas from 1st and 2nd year of Computer Science - Bachelor study programme.
Course materials
Lessons, templates and online resources are made available on the school's learning platform after the start of the course. In addition, it may be relevant with textbooks depending on the type of assignment.
