About the course
Course content
The course contains sociological perspectives on for example social inequality dimensions in sport like: social class, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, disabled, age etc., and how these are intersected within this field. The main focus will be how social inequalities are constructed, reproduced and in change in different sport contexts.
Learning outcome
Knowledge – the student will gain knowledge about:
* How social inequalities in sport contexts are constructed, reproduced and in change, and which theories are the most adequate to explain and understand the processes and mechanisms constructing and reproducing inequalities in sport.
Skills – the student shall have skills:
* To describe and discuss relevant phenomenon in sport in dialogue with theory in a competent and independent manner.
* To write a paper about central topics connected to content of the course.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures 2 hours pr. week and seminars 3 hours every second week.

Recommended previous knowledge

Required previous knowledge
75 credits in Social Sciences and Sports Sciences
or equivalent. The requirement must be fulfilled to be admitted to the course.
