Course content

The course aims to give the students insight into the practical everyday life in the field of sports. Examples of where the students could get their sport practice can be clubs, sports clubs, sport specific federations, municipalities and county municipalities. Through the practice, students will try themselves in roles such as coach, manager, administrator, advisor and consultant. Students will be out in their work place one day a week for 8 weeks throughout the semester, participate in the "daily" work assignments, and contribute as a professional in the relevant environment. The content of the internship period is developed and enshrined in an internship plan in collaboration between a contact person from the relevant internship, student and the subject manager.

Learning outcome

Knowledge goals - the student should be able to:

  • gain insight into current situations and issues at their practice.
  • reflect on how theoretical knowledge in the field can be applied in practice

Skill goals - the student should be able to:

  • undertake the tasks they are given in their practice and solve these on the basis of their professional competence
  • apply their expertise in various practical situations
  • write an evaluation report on their own practice

Practice, start-up and closing seminar

  • Participation in start-up and end seminars
  • 70% attendence at the internship during the internship period

Exam registration requires that class registration is approved in the same semester. Compulsory activities from previous semester may be approved by the department

Specific conditions

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Sport Sciences (MIDR)

Required previous knowledge

75 credits in Social Sciences and Sports Sciences or equivalent. The requirement must be fulfilled to be admitted to the course.
