Course content

This course is the extension of Drift I. The students will gain knowledge in the following topics:• Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)• Remote operations• Autonomous systems• Risk assessment, trajectory planning • Cyber security

Learning methods and activities

This course is the extension of Drift I. We will provide some topics related to ship autonomy, including risk assessment, trajectory planning, tracking, ship motion prediction, dynamic control and force allocation. Some case studies will be presented, such as dead reckoning of dynamically positioned ships and autonomous ship docking.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Naval Architecture - Engineering (699SD)

Required previous knowledge

Students must have completed the course Drift I or have equivalent knowledge Background in Automation or Computer Science is an advantage.

Course materials

Students will use their own laptops to install software. Access to software will be given ahead of the course. Students can download lecture notes from given network.
