Course content

Course curriculum is based on general introduction to mechanical engineering in particular. The subjects of interests are:

  • Systematic techniques
  • Methods of product development
  • Introduction to 3D modelling and simple simulations
  • Building of models and prototypes with the digital and manual tools
  • Introduction to sustainability.

Learning outcome

The candidate has

  • the basic understanding of the engineer role in the domain of mechanical engineering
  • product design and product development including basic elements of constructions, mechanics, calculations and machine programming
  • visualisation and modelling using manual and digital tools
  • communication of the obtained knowledge to people with different backgrounds and experties.

Learning methods and activities

Pedagogical methods:

  • Individual assignments
  • Group work under supervision
  • Lectures on chosen topics

Compulsory assignments

  • Mandatory assignments

Further on evaluation

Mandatory individual and group assignments must be approved during the semester. The project work is conducted in groups.
