have knowledge of where and how microorganisms live in nature.
have insight in methods used for control of microbial growth.
have knowledge of how microorganisms interact with humans.
have an overview of industrial organisms and products.
have knowledge of what contamination is and how to identifying hazards and prevent contamination.

The student should have a general understanding for microbiology and for differents microorganisms.

Pedagogiske metoder:
Lectures, compulsory laboratory exercises with the writing of reports, group subject
Obligatoriske arbeidskrav:
Compulsory laboratory exercises, 90% participation. Reports and group subject must be approved: 6 reports and 1 compulsory group subject with presentation for the class.
