Læringsutbytte - Kunnskap: have basic knowledge about bioinformatics tools.    Læringsutbytte - Ferdigheter: be able to apply their knowledge to analyze nucleotide sequences. understand which tools can be applied on different nucleotide sequences. understand how these tools can be useful in different parts of research projects. Be able to search and obtain information from databases    Læringsutbytte - Kompetanse: be able to engagd in conversations about bioinformatics

Learning methods and activities

Pedagogiske metoder: Leactures with mandatory practical computer excersises    The course has a study load of 134 hours, of which 20 hours are expected for compulsory practice, 10 hours for lectures, 40 hours for assignments.  Obligatoriske arbeidskrav: Mandatory participation in practical computer excersises. Approved assignments

1 week written home examination.  Re-sit examination:Students who failed the exam or have a legitimate leave of absence from the exam, will be allowed to re-sit the exam during the next re-sit opportunity.
